i think they designed an air cushion that is specifically designed to keep pressure off your tailbone. You could always just crawl around with that sexy *** in the air.

You need to go to the doctor. I know, even if it's fractured it's not like they can put you in a cast, but if a piece has chipped off, that may have to be removed--so you need an xray. That way, you can get something for the pain. I have fractured mine and years later if I sit too long, it hurts like hell. Try hot Epsom salt baths and (seriously) go to the drug store and get a donut-seat. It will allow you to sit yet the pressure will be off your tailbone. Trust me...when it hurts bad enough you will try anything to make the pain go away. Also take some Ibuprofen--it will help with the inflammation.

An injured tailbone needs time to heal. A bruised tailbone may take several days to several weeks to completely heal. A fractured tailbone takes 4 to 6 weeks to heal. In either case, people sometimes have pain for a long time.

While your tailbone injury is healing it is very important to use a doughnut cushion when you are sitting. A doughnut cushion may be purchased at a medical supply house or you may use a child's swimming inner tube.

You should place an ice pack on your tailbone for 20 to 30 minutes every 3 to 4 hours for 2 to 3 days or until the pain goes away. Your health care provider may prescribe an anti-inflammatory or pain medicines.

It is important to avoid constipation while your tailbone is healing. Drink plenty of fluids and increase the amount of fiber in your diet.

I hope this helps.

I broke my tail bone twice in the same year (playing hockey when I was much younger). Unless it is really badly broken, the sad news is there is nothing can be done for it. Get a safe painkiller from your doctor, as you will need to be on something for a considerable time, try to get in a comfortable position (like that's possible) and wait it out. I had to be careful how I sat down for a couple of years after my last injury...and I understand that to be common. Literally a pain in the ***!

Someone I know broke it a few weeks ago.
The doctor told her to just make sure she is sitting something soft to prevent from more pain. And if pain if too strong just take some Tylenol or other soft painkillers.

Have you gone to the doctor? I think that would be a good place to start. Get someone to help you go and take some painkillers (aleve, tylenol) in the time being

Theres not much you can do about a broken tailbone except wait it out....try ice.It may help, but you'll have to deal with the pain for awhile.

If you think that you fractured or broke it, go see the doctor right away!

Go to a doctor!

If it's bruised, it'll take a few days to heal.

If it's fractured/broke, you need medical attention now!
