sounds like you may have an infection. They do sell ear wax removal drops at the grocery store, so you may want to try that. But I must warn you...I did that a few years ago and ended up in the emergency room because I had an allergic reaction to the drops! Worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I recommend going to the dr. You can also get liquid colace and put that in your ear.

Clean your ears every day, it's the best solution. And if the problem continues, perhaps a medicated daily drop would help prevent an increased build up. If you use a good quality solid ended q tip right (not pushing, just swirling and not going down into your ear canal like so many do) it shouldn't push it down. Try sleeping on your back as well, sleeping on one side or the other allows the natural build of wax to settle father in one ear regularly.

Ear wax build-up isn't painful - it just blocks your ears so you can't hear very well. It feels like you have water in your ears after you go swimming or take a shower, but for a longer period of time. What you have sounds like an ear infection, and I would stop using a Q-Tip and go to your doctor as soon as possible. Do you have a fever, too? That's a sure sign of an ear infection or possible sinus infection, which can also cause ear blockage and pain. Are you dizzy or lightheaded, too? If so, definitely go to the doctor before it gets any worse because you probably have an ear infection.

sounds like an infection. Just go to the doctor, before you don't have a choice and end up in the emergency room. If you get to the point where you hear your every heart beat in your head, or it sounds like a continuous train running through your head, it's serious. Wax build-up would itch, more than be painful. Have you tried Swimear ?

Use hydrogen peroxide. Lay on your side and pour a teaspoonful in your ear, and lay there. You'll feel it bubbling and breaking down the wax build-up. You may have to do this a couple times. You can then squirt warm water into your ear to flush out the debris.
Hope that helps!

An earwax buildup usually just causes slight deafness as a result of wax blocking the tube. Warm water or warm olive oil will soften it up and make it easier to remove, or your Dr. can just seringe it out. As far as the pain in your ear, I don't know if that can be attributed to wax or not...better off getting it checked.

Q tips are bad - they actually push the wax further into the ear. Try using something like Waxsol, it clears the wax out of the ears.

for relief of wax building up in the ear canal pour diluted hydrogen peroxide although this can be unpleasant it brings the wax to the surface which then is easily removed.

and, following those instructions, your ear will be burnt.
Try using a waterpik, that's been one of the best things since it came out for cleaning ears. Nothing gets stuck down into the ear canal, just warm water. If the fails, try hydrogen peroxide, just see if you can boil it out. it that fails, go to a doctor, and tell him to get a pick and shovel.

Take a page from a newspaper. Roll it up very, very tightly into a very thin cone shape. Put the pointed end into your ear. With a match, light the other end. It should burn very slowly and with a small flame, so you won't burn your house down. The heat will draw the wax out and waaaaalaaaaah. You've got ears as clean as a baby's.
