I read once that parents spend the first year of their child's life trying to teach him/her how to talk and the next 17 years trying to teach them how to shut up....Sounds like you've got a very typical 13 year old!

It is a god's gift to be talkative. All the successful people have this quality! She can survive in any difficult situation.

Since she is talkative, she is not afraid of others, hence, she will learn more and faster from others and equipped well with all tools to tackle various problems expected in her life.

She will be very helpful as well to others. She would be a trend setter as well and would have many admirers and followers. Let her enjoy her talk and ur family can participate in her talks and share the joy as well.

But, tell her, at times, she has to be a good listener as well to learn more. As long as her studies are not affected she can enjoy this phase!

It's typical for a 13 yr old girl to be a chatterbox. She'll stop when she gets older. For now, listen in on the important stuff and that's nice dear on the boring. You will find out lots about her by doing it that way. She just may say something very important. You never know about children these days.

I am a 15 year old girl and well I was very talkative. My parents listened and listened and I think that is why we have such a close bond. We can talk about anything together and I feel like we can without any problems. so if your going to want to know what is going on in your daugthers life and you probable will you might want to listen and talk w/ her. and if you need to take a break there is always friends houses.

Nothing. Trust me, I was the same way at 13. I'm 23 now, and my own daughter asks me if I know how to be quiet!

Take advantage of her talkativeness and talk with her. Be there for her. If she is getting on your nerves some, just tell her you need some time alone. Be gentle. Teach her by example that sometimes listening is better than talking. She'll out grow it.

Three things
1 enjoy it because soon she won't say anything to you about her life.

2 never shut her up, to her it means that she is dumb and you are shutting her out, everything she says is very important to her so be careful what you say, she just wants you to listen

3 Understand that this is a stage of growth and must not be taken lightly it could effect her life, I would defintely look at Pyschology Growth and Development and see the cause and effects,

I don't think there's anything specifically wrong with being very talkative, and at her age it is perfectly normal to talk a lot. Just make it clear that sometimes it is appropriate to speak a lot and other times it isn't.
