Yes -- ugly as sin Christmas decorations always get regifted around our house to the people we know that just LOVE them!! Different tastes for different folks, I guess.

Hehe. Yes, we also have a whole shelf in a cupboard of unwanted gifts. I don't really feel that bad about it. I keep them aside and pass on to something I think will appreciate a particular gift more than myself.

One problem I have is that my mother-in-law has got it into her head that I like certain things. For example, she gave me this perfume one year for Christmas. Being polite as one has to be with in-laws, I told her it was nice and I was enjoying it. I got it again for my birthday and for my birthday again this year. I still haven't finished the first one. So that left me with 3 bottles. I haven't got the heart to tell her that actually if I had a choice I would buy myself a different perfume. Especially since this particular perfume is quite pricey. So I gave one of the bottles away. I'm sure I will get more in future!

Yes, in fact, I have a "regifting" closet. I only regift for two reasons:
1. I'm not that close to the individual who gave me the gift, and the likelihood of them asking be about the gift or coming to my home is slim to nil, AND

2.) When it is clear that the individual clearly had no idea what I like, or put little or no thought into their gift choice for me.

Usually if I get a gift that was given to me for the sake of giving a gift, then I will regift it. Like if someone gives me one of those novelty department store gifts that might be a cordless phone/hair dryer/flashlight/AM radio/rectal thermometer combo, I am likely to regift it as a grab bag item.

I received a bland picture frame. I don't know why everyone insists on me getting a picture frame every year. This is definetly a regifter....

I got a bunch of DVDs that I already own. So I will give those to another person. Does that count?
