I QUIT SMOKING FOR A MONTH ALREADY AND IM FEELING REALLY ANXIOUS AT WORK MY JOB IS SO RELAXING I BEARLY STAND UP IM SITTING DOWM ALL THE TIME AND WHERE I WORK AT WE DONT HAVE MUCH SPACE TO WALK AROUND STREACH OUT TO MAKE IT SHORT ITS A SLACKING JOB LOL...BUT YEA IM GAINING WEIGHT!!I DONT LIKE THAT...

The reason you're getting fat is that you are burning less calories than you are consuming. Increase your exercise or decrease your intake. Or both.

It is pretty normal to gain a little weight after stopping smoking, because nicotine is a stimulant that stimulates your metabolism. But DONT START AGAIN !!! The health benefits of your stopping smoking are much higher than the weight gain is bad.
And working sitting down, sure, it doesn't help. I know what you're talking about, I also get pretty anxious when sitting down all day long (I have this thing with my leg bouncing up and down by itself, you know?) But you can try to exercise when you are off work, with something you like. At the same time it will decrease the stress (it does for me).

The fact is that you quit smoking, and now you probably eat more. And the bigger fact is you sit all day at your job....No exercise! You probably snack all day. Maybe you should start jogging or just going to the gym after work? It would help a great deal. And dont eat junk food at work. I too have a job where I just sit her and play with the computer for 8 hrs a day. I dont get up much. My copy machine is behind me so I dont even get up to do that...I just roll! haha. I started gaining a little weight when I started here....I cut down on the snacks!!! It helped alot!

When you quit smoking it changes your metabolism, some people also tend to eat more. Take stalk of what your eating and make some changes. (more veggies and fruits). If you drive park futher away from the building. If your in an office take the stairs, if you take the bus get off a few stops and walk the rest of the way.
Dont stress yourself out about it or you'll end up smoking again!!!

well yes that is why u are gaining weight. u are craving food instead of cigs.and you don't have anywhere to work out and no time.
if i was u i would walk to work or bike if it is somewhat close or i would park farway and power walk to your work.that will help u lose calories u are gaining while working
i would eat 3 main meals, and HEALTHY snacks in between. that will fill u up.and WATCH what u are putting in your mounth.

when someone quits smoking, its natural to gain weight, because ppl who smoke burn more calories than the ones they dont.
and because your body is fighting the temptation to smoke, you get stressed and because you are used to hold a cigaratte,it feels natural to hold smt,munch and do smt ..what id suggest is eating carrots or fresh veggies all teh time to fill you up, try chewing gum,loads of water to hydrate and detox,try walking to work,or smt, half an hour walk everyday would do the job.and when you get stressed,deep breaths.
go you,for quiting smoking,resist the temptation you are doing great!
try new things to keep your mind busy as well

Some ppl do gain weight after quiting Tobacco my hubby gained a little.

oh goodness, don't listen to the "maybe quitting smoking isn't for everybody" comment. It's great that you quit. Keep it up! Also, all you need to do is stay active, eat healthy-ish, and drink lots of water. no big =]
