I have noticed a lot of teenage girls and women in thier early twenties (including myself) are having white hairs.

People often say this happens if we start colouring our hair (for cosmetic reasons) but I think this might just be an old wives tale.

Does anybody out there know whether there is a real link between the two?

White hair is caused by genetics more than anything else. Chemically treating your hair with color, perms, etc does not make the hair grow white earlier. Old wives tale.

There is not. Many girls (as well as guys) in their late teens/early twenties have gray hair which can be caused by stressed. I have noticed that around midterm/finals time there are more and more white/gray hair popping up on my head.

chemically doing anything to your hair is first of all very very harmful to it and will stimulate the "balding" or thinning out of hair very quickly. I have also noticed that women who tend to die their hair to hide white hairs often have more white hairs in the roots when their hair grows out a little bit, so scientifically, based on my observations, yes... the two are linked somehow, but like most people believe, and it is true, white hairs come from stress, malnutrition and lack of sleep.

well it depends on how sensitive or allergic your hair is some times it does not happen but as i said it depends on your hair but u should not do it freom an early age because at that time your hair r not properly formed and r very sensitive

i really doubt it... i think that is only true if u dye your hair from a dark color like black or brown to like blonde. but i think premature whiteness is caused by genetics or sunlight

If you bleach your hair (not color it with good a hair color product) it will definately give you some greys.
