MPS is only if you *the Sender* has an APO or FPO address *RETURN Address*....How do I know? I have one...and the only way to get one is to live overseas with the Military. And then, I can only send to another APO/FPO Mailing Address for free.

Not that I know of but it sure would be great. I send weekly packages while my husband deploys, and I just have to suck it up. Try to send smaller packages. You might also try AAFES gift cards that they can spend in the PX over there, or phone cards. If you are sending alot of food items, just try sending items that are more on the light side than heavy. No more bricks in the care packages! If you are spending money on packing materials, the postal service will send you free boxes and tape. I dont have the 800 number but I am sure you can find the request form on their website. Good luck and take care!

You probably have more than these two choices:1- If you are a military dependent you go where your soldier is stationed at and get in touch with his/her FIRST SARGENT 2- if you just want to send a care package get in touch with the Red Cross.

When I send my husband packages, I normally just send it in a flat rate box. Your post office will have these....it is 8.10 to ship regardless of the weight. So I stuff is with a ton of soup, drinks, anything really heavy. Hope this helps!

If you are close to a military base and have access you can send it MPS (military postal system) for free. If not get a flat rate box. It cost like $8 anywhere in the US. And since you are sending it to an APO its technically still in the US. I hope this helps you alittle. And thanks for sending care packages. my husband is down there and thats all some of his single friends get. Your doing a good thing!

there are flat-rate boxes at the post office, $8 I think, and as long as whatever it is fit in there, they'll ship it, even if it weighs a literal ton. That how I send care packages...

If you have access to an on base post office you can mail these items by military mail and it is free. Also contact the red cross and they also ship items weekly to our soldiers and will ship your items for free as well. Good Luck and God Bless.

You can get ahold of your husbands chain of command, they will ship the packages for free - from what I understand. Sometimes it takes longer, but thats okay. :) Especially for heavy items.
