There are lots of difference - WinMe is no longer support by Microsoft & is full of bugs and it uses the fat system which means it fills up your hard drive.
Win2000 uses NTFS ( just like XP) but is no longer supported by microsoft.
WinXP is support by microsoft uses NTFS and has a lot more than WIN2000.

Different versions of the Windows operating system. Windows ME was and is a piece of crap that Microsoft hurried to get out. Windows 2000 was designed for business firms, and is a good OS, and the underlying basis for Windows XP. Windows Server 2003 is again a business or commercial based OS for companies with lots of computers.

windows 2000 was the prequel to xp and is based on the xp code base, still used by numerous users for its reliabilty and stable system
...................
windows xp comes in 4 versions home, professinal, media center, and the 64bit versions, this is still the most widely used version of windows due to its reliablitiy and amount of software avalible
....................
windows millenium come out around 2 years after windows 98,and was supposedly a operating system to work around the millenium bug,but this is a rumour that went round the computer world, the main differences with millenium were the usb compatibility and the 1st system to incorporate "system restore",also it had utilitys for digital cameras and scanners, but millenium was no sooner released it faded away after being taken over by windows 2000
...........................
server 2003 is basically a operating system designed for small to medium companys, the average home user will probally never come accross this platform(i havent)
............................
the next operating system windows"vista" is due out in march 2007 and will revolutionize the way we use home computers, with 3d graphic user interfaces(g.u.i) and speech recognition,it also requires a hell of a lot more memory(ram),i use the beta version of "vista ultimate" and i have 1.5gb of ram,but my p.c struggles to run vista smoothly
