If the Christmas pudding has spirit in it and is kept in an airtight container it will keep for months and months. Many people cook several puddings at Christmas, have one of them at Christmas and then the others throughout the year. You can then reheat them by microwave.

My Grandma scorned me this Christmas as my family had to buy a Christmas pudding when I confessed I had recently thrown out one I made two Octobers ago.

I tried telling her that it was all mouldy but this only made the situation worse. She told me sternly that all I had to do was scrape off the mould and dowse it in Brandy. She then spent a good long while telling me how it would have been beautiful.

To be fair, having tried a shop bought one (that was even in the shops, 'extra special' range) it was rubbish! No flavour, big raisens and was just horrible. I didn't even have seconds! But that is besides the point.

My point is, don't let the mould put you off, it will be deliscious. haha.

Christmas puddings cooked with spirit or alcahol, will last for years, I aways make own, and always make about 5 large puddings and have last one just before Christmas. Have had one left before now much longer. cant go off.
