I had your problem, was a right lazy git and now I am a semi-professional kicboxer, swimmer, jogger, gym fanatic, long distance hiker and world traveller………that’s pretty good going for someone who used to sit on their bum all day eating doritos.

The key is that to get motivated you have to do the exercise. JUST DO IT even if you are not motivated and then the motivation will come. A lack of motivation is caused by a lack of exercise and a poor diet, this gives you low energy levels which in turn will give you lower motivation levels.

The fact is you will not be able to will yourself to become motivated. You have to do the work and the motivation will follow close behind.

Start off slowly, in small steps - Go for a long walk at the weekend, have a short half hour swim, maybe a light jog the day after. Then get into something more vigorous like boxing or marathons. As you get fitter you will get happier, your energy levels will increase, your sense of wellbeing and confidence will improve and motivation will not even be an issue after a few weeks. You will feel so good about the new way you feel that will drive you forward. You will be a motivation machine.

Starting an exercise regime was the best thing I ever done in my life. Before that my life was stagnant, unpleasent and a struggle. Exercise improved my life in all manners of way. Not only was I more motivated to do more exercise, I became more motivated in many other aspects of my life including work, travel and social relationships.

Don't be a lazy waster. Get out there and live. Just do it and then think about it later. Let the exercise heal your life.

The one thing that is most motivating is results. But of course you can't see results until you start. SO. Try taking baby steps. Say this week you will make sure you drink 8 glasses of water a day. Don't concern yourself with anything else. For 1 whole week you will drink 8 or more glasses of water daily. Even with this small change you will see some improvement. The next week try eating 3 servings of fruit a day in addition to the water. No you are not on a diet just yet. You are only adding healthful foods to your daily meals,. You'll still eat whatever else you want. The following week you should add 3 servings of vegetables a day. Little by little you will be squeezing out the unhealthful foods and replacing them with healthful ones. For exercise start by placing items that you need in inconvenient locations around the house so that you have to walk a little ways or climb or stoop to get them. If your house has a second story this is even better since you will have to climb the stairs to retrieve what you need or want. (How about keeping the junk food upstairs?) As you begin to see results you will be motivated to do more. Happy Healthy to you!

Once you start it is very easy, but like you say, you just have to make that first step. The best way is to do lots of small things first and you will hardly notice.

Go to the shop NOW and buy lots of healthy stuff to populate your kitchen with - so next time you're peckish and snacking you will eat healthily. Fruit and veg and fish and salady things.

Next time you go out, ask yourself do you really need to drive or take a bus, and walk or cycle instead.

Next time you go up an escalator, walk up it as well as going up mechanically - and next time you have a choice of lift or stairs, go stairs.

Take less sugar in things, try water instead of milk.

Tomorrow morning, have porridge for breakfast, with water and honey. And maybe some grapefruit.

Take vitamin C. Drink lots of water.

Next time your caught thirsty, get Purdey's not Coke.

Join a health club and go regularly - but don't force anything - just go for a swim or the sauna if that's all you feel like.

There you go.

it incredibly is in all possibility especially to do with your boyfriend yet everybody feels that way somewhat in some unspecified time sooner or later. i think that way and that i'm in basic terms 15 - I even have an artwork project to do for college and that i could lots want to hold around Yahoo! solutions for some unusual reason, lol. do no longer hassle, take a smash, have a smoothie, loosen up in the solar. Have a pair of 'relax days' and then rigidity your self to do the artwork, it extremely is the only thank you to get artwork finished!

I agree with "the fonz" but for other reasons.
1- swimming is a full body exercise, using more mussels than most exercises.
2- heavy exercise like swimming makes your body's metabolism skyrocket so much that half an hour after swimming the food you eat doesn't make you gain weight.
3- many swimming pools have small cafes in them which you can tempt yourself with after, say, 40 minutes of swimming.

There you have why to swim, why it's best to swim, and motivation.

Take all your clothes off and stand in front of a full length mirror, check yourself out and look for bits of you that you don't like, and then tell yourself to do some thing about it, and once you get going the adrenalin bug will take over, have fun get fit, stay safe.

Start walking ! Seriously, get a pedometer and aim to increase your number of steps every day. If you go to this website for pedometer enthusiasts (it's not commercial, no ads, not selling anything) you can enter your daily steps and it works out your average for you. You can keep a step blog if you want, and compare walking notes with others. I find it really motivates me.

you have already started by just thinking about it but that is not enough.
try walking a little every day and build up. make it a treat for yourself.
whenever you want to eat junk food, try to reach for something more healthy like popcorn or carrots.
buy them ahead of time so you have them ready.
I have problems with this too.
i want to start but just can't break through
good luck

make a list of things you should not be eating that you eat and place it on the wall in your bedroom so that anytime you eat them you would feel like you let yourself down. also get a gym membership. the money that you pay should be enough motivation for you to use it.
