Any type of exercise will see fat reduced from the face and stomach first. If you want a better workout with faster results, try using a cross trainer. The weight will come off much faster. I would suggest that if you are eating properly and exercising 5 times a week for thirty minutes, you'll lose the 40 pounds in about four months. Good luck to you.

No, but it's usually the case that the most visible results are seen around one's midsection first. You could lose those forty pounds in two months, but that would demand hitting that treadmill six out of seven days, three or more times a day, for half an hour at a time. Better off not trying to lose that much that fast; most folks, when they learn how devilishly hard it is to lose fast, get discouraged and quit altogether. That can actually do more harm than good.

I have always heard that the last place you gained your weight is the first to come off. If you do cardio on the treadmill, you will definitely lose fat. If you combine this with a healthy diet and basically cut out all refined carbs and junk food, especially sugar, you will lose 2 pounds a week. So you will reach your goal before summer.

No, that is not the primary reason. Treadmills are primarily for cardiovascular reason. The other machines do work for the stomach and I cannot name those machines but they are tummy crunchers... To lose 40 pounds would require a lot of time at those tummy cruncher machines but primarily a proper diet would be the best way to lose.. that is what I am doing right now

No. As with any cardio exercise you tend to burn fat/calories all over. You can not spot reduce. In addition to your cardio exercise, you should also add strength training or some kind of toning exercises to your regimen. A treadmill is a great way to lose weight, but you need to keep pushing yourself farther and faster. Best wishes and good luck!

Treadmills don't target specific fat deposits. Your body will lose fat as it wants to, where it wants to. 40 pounds could take 15-40 weeks depending on your diet, exercise routine, and your metabolism.

Not necessarily. Fat is lost throughout your body. if you want to look good on your midsection, try Pilate's. Most of the exercises target your core muscles and work inside out. Another great workout to combine this with would be Core secrets or Billy Blanks Boot camp home exercise programs as well. You should be able to loose about 2.2 ponds per week if done correctly.

No you will lose fat everywhere at the same rate. You need to burn more calories than you take in. 3500 calories = 1 pound. So you need to burn 3500 calories more than you take in to burn 1 pound off. It'll take a while so don't get discouraged, just keep eating less and walking more, you'll see the weight coming off.

It never did that for me. Treadmill is good for cardio and strength but you need crunches done correctly to get it off the stomach area.

no, you will lose weight according to your body type. For instance some people will lose from their legs or face first, where others will go from the top and bottom meeting in the middle.
