Brown sugar is really nothing but white refined sugar that has had molasses added back into it, unless your sugar says 'natural brown sugar' and is made from sugar cane.

Brown sugar is slightly more moist than white sugar, so it is a way of adding moisture to what you are cooking without adding a lot of liquid.

Brown sugar is good for color, texture, and sweetness. White sugar used quite often though and a lot of the times white and brown are combined. Brown sugar also tastes better in most foods and it adds moisture so you dont need as much wet ingredients going into what ever your making.

Brow sugar is the better sugar. It has many nutrients and it tastes very good. The white sugar has only a little quantity of nutrients, it has only calories. This is the reason because the brown sugar is widely used in recipes.
