My windows are 10 feet high and currently have mini-blinds on them, which are a pain. I want to get rid of them and do something unique with my windows or to the glass. I do not have a lot of money to spend on this and it has to be relatively easy to remove. I live on Main St. in a small town and have constant nightlights. I want to block the light, but also let it in... and I cannot stand heavy drapes. If I could find a thicker, sturdier version of tissue paper to somehow decorate and cut to size and edge.... it may look nice with light coming through it. I just cannot come up with anything. Any ideas?

how about some heave lacy curtains. that is what i have on the lower half of my windows. no one can really see it, but it lets the light in. another option would be a kind of stained glass effect. i know you can buy this stuff that is kind of like contact paper, but is translucent. or, there are kits you can buy at the craft store to create a stained glass effect. you can frost the windows with an opaque finish, that way you don't really do a pattern. just a kind of snow flake or icy effect. i think you can get the contact paper type stuff at Harriet carter.com or somewhere like that. do a search on temporary frosted windows,
good luck

I bought a bolt of bubble gauze from Dharma trading (.com) for not a lot of money to hang around the house. (Cost for 52 yards was $130.00)
