I know they say to eat lean meats---tuna, chicken, fish, turkey, but is shrimp good if it is not fried????? Im trying to lose weight, a lot so I need to know. I love shrimp!!!

I love shrimp too, and from what I found, 3oz. of shrimp contain 80-90 calories, and a whole pound contains 480 (can't imagine you'd be eating them by the pound)! So yes, they are a great source of lean protein. Just bake or broil them, with no oils or breading.

shrimp is a shellfish that contains more fat then some of the others. But it is healthy as long as its not fried. Dont eat the shell though. Shrimp are also listed as an allergin. Its best to eat variety of high protein foods and less sugars and starches when trying to loose weight.

Shrimp is high in cholesterol, even if it's not fried. If you have a small helping once a week it shouldn't be a problem

It is good for you but not "lean". Shrimp and lobster and other shellfish actually have a high fat content compared to regular fish like cod, salmon, etc. That's why they taste so good.

in moderation...shrimp has the highest concentration of cholesterol out of any food
