We're looking to buy this truck and I've heard a lot of different answers to the gas mileage question.

I had one also I mainly used it going back and forth to work I got 22 mpg with no mods. I did take it four wheeling one weekend, spent a lot of time on the trails and the worst I got was 17 mpg. Most of the time if it is tuned up and maintained the mileage won't be bad.

Ok the 4.0 Inline 6 not V is very bullet proof just keep the oil changed and you will be able to go another 150K. Ok average fuel mileage around town is 15-18 mpg. highway 18 to 22 or better the best ive gotten only a few times on highway is 25. but cherokees are really a great overall vehicle. yes they Squeak and rattle but they are a jeep and they all do it. ive had 3 a 94,00, and 01. the 94 is long gone but sold the 00 to my brother and i have the 01.. the 00 has 80k on it and the 01 has 103k its a true champ.

It's 16-19 city and 20-23 highway.

16-19 city and about 20-23 highway. They aren't bad I had an inline 6 4.0 an it was alright on gas. Just has large gas tank 20 gallons

tires are usually 23 inch and you would probally get 17 city and 19 highway.. i own this jeep and love it. its good on gas and has a lot of power and room... good luck

nicely first element to make it look stable and espresso-priced put in a 2 inch raise supplies it alittle extra top. in basic terms one hundred dollars. next tint your abode windows.50 dollars. third get stable tires i recomend Bfgoodrich all or airborne dirt and dust terrains. 500 finding on length. next positioned some type of brushguard with offroad lights furnishings. 2 hundred-3 hundred. Then in case you have the prefer to make it sound stable positioned a flowmaster exsaust kit. one hundred dollars.
