No you can't do it, you need a new product key. But I would suggest you wait a while to get it. I have RC1 (Release Candidate 1) And it sucks donkey balls. I hate it, so full of bugs, full of crap, full of incompatibility errors, so many upgrades you need such as:
1GB of RAM
Upgrade to a better graphic Card
Upgrade to a better Sound Card
more to come. But upgrade at your own risk. I would wait a while like with Windows XP. When it came out in 2001 it had MANY bugs and errors, it sucked with some applications, the SP2 came out with better stuff and fixes. But here are the serials to the latest versions of Windows (Vista Sucks):
Windows XP Media Center 2004
BHWT8-3FBH2-VXXCJ-2TCQM-8RFRB

Windows XP Media Center 2005
C4BH3-P4J7W-9MT6X-PGKC8-J4JTM

Windows Longhorn - Build 4015
CKY24-Q8QRH-X3KMR-C6BCY-T847Y

Windows Longhorn - Build 4074

Windows Vista Ultimate (RC1) Build 5600

Sure, why not....you could've used your windows 95 code or the 98 code to get XP right? Vista is a new system and has its own serial numbers...you will be able to get an upgrade version of it but you cannot use the same serial number.

No its not possible

Because Vista is completely different version compared to XP

For example:- You Cannot put the same serial key for Nero 7 which you have used for Nero 6 right

So in the same context this is not possible

No

You will need to get a Vista Upgrade Pack from Microsoft or a retail store.

NOPE, If you could do that how would Microsoft make any money at all with there new product? A special HASH key is generated from your product key and hardware configuration and it is sent to Microsoft when you register your copy of Windows. If anyone tries to use the same product key as you it finds that entry and denies it..

NO

And Vista has some pretty big hardware requirements, so if you haven't bought the computer pretty recently, you shouldn't upgrade it at all.
