The name may have other variations such as Suliman, soloman ect... but trying to trace a family name like this when there seems to be no family connected to it, apparently a Sulman came out from the middle east and married a young german girl, before moving to england, then his offspring to Australia...anything on this name would be most appreciated

There are 72 Soundex (a sounds like algorithm used in Genealogy) entries for Sulman in the LDS Family Search Site. You should go look at them. It appears that the origin is English, but they are around the globe. Look for the oldest dates at that site. Strange that name does not show up in the Swyrich.com site.
