Ok, I know I'll get the "age comments". But I have to ask this. Everytime I mention time speeding up, people either say oh that happens as you get older, or "it's just the pace of our world the technology", yet none of these tell me anything.

How can technology speed time up? I am not using anything different that I was using as a kid basically apart from typing on the internet here and that is it. I barely watch TV anymore, I have a chronic illness and time should pass slower than ever, yet every year it seems faster.

I noticed it starting around 1998 1999 and I was only 25. The odd thing is, when I asked a few others, without telling them what year I started to notice it, they all said "oh about 1999", and one of them was only 19 at the time.

I hear others talking about it and even kids mention it also, so it's not age related. I'd just be interested in hearing if anybody else is noticing it.

Again, people state it's the busy rush of life, makes it seem fast. I do NOT lead a fast paced life, I have suffered chronic illness for years. Nor do I focus on time, why would I focus on time, when it never occured to me to take notice of it before. Unless it started to seem faster, and it occured to me oneday that time seemed to be quickening and others were speaking of it also.

Also, kids are noticing it, they are not working they are going to school like any other kid always has.

How does technology account for it? I do not use anything new, neither are those I talk to. Some have the same job and line of work they always had, so not all of us are in fast paced jobs or lives.

My mum works in a library, as she has for years, yet only noticed this rushing since 1999 or thereabouts. She has people coming into the library talking about "time speeding up", and some of these people are old and retired and all they do is read and do gardening...

YES IT IS. THE BIBLE PUTS IT THIS WAY AT ZEPHANIAH 1:14 14 “The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying [of it] very much.
IF IT HELPS, YOU CAN REPLACE JEHOVAH'S NAME WITH "GOD" BUT THE MESSAGE REMAINS THE SAME, THIS WICKED SYSTEM WE PRESENTLY LIVE IN IS HURRYING TO IT'S END AND SOON PEACE WILL EXIST ON THE EARTH.

I know what you are saying. I hear the young kids talking about it too.

That is very odd. I was used to the old people saying it but when I started hearing kids from 5 to 18 saying it it made me take notice.

Even when I'm doing things that I hate to do the time just flies by and it's over before I know it.

This used to be a sure way of making time drag by, but not any more.

Something is up, glad I'm not the only one noticing.

Love and blessings Don

The Wheel of the Year does seem to turn quicker. I think it is just because of the fast pace life we seem to live nowadays and it is because it seems that way as we get older. It also has to do with the old adage of "a watched pot never boils" because most of us don't have time to just watch the pot but are so busy doing things that the pot boils long before we are expecting it too while doing other things. I think I would really enjoy a day of just sitting back and watching the pot boil or the grass grow.

Society is moving at a faster pace. In the days past, people took more time to do simple things like stop and say hello as you passed by. Nowe everyone has their own agendas and timelines to live by and only a few hours on the day to get everything done so no one has time to stop and breathe, much less say hello. It is also true that as you age time moves faster because of the responsibilities adulthood lays upon your shoulders. it isn't that time is really moving any faster in reality, just that you are more aware of the things you need to accomplish before your time here is over.

Yes I hear a lot of people saying the same thing, and from young teens. I heard a person last week say how everyone was talking about how things will be in 2000, and now it is about to be 2007.

Yes, I have noticed it, I am 57 & been retired from my employer for one yr. One reason time seems like it is flying is that so many things is taking place, & many things in the bible is taking place,. Many years ago, not as many different things rather Scriptures or just every day things was taking place. Our Minds is so geared up, That we do not comprehend time.

It's faster because you are paying more attention to it, simple as that. Lives get busier, you "use more" you experience more or the same over and over. Time suddenly has a value placed on it.

Isn't it because most of us are running after money and fame rather than living a peaceful life? We are connected to the net for hours and talking to unseen people while we don't even know our neighbours. :)
