I ate a Burger King on boxing day and had a chicken royale meal. My brother and my Dad both had burgers, so i reckon it was the chicken that's making me feel sick. I vomited about 12 times on that night and once again in the morning. Ever since then i have had a headache and i have been feeling very weak. Two days on, i am still feeling pretty weak, but i am slowly starting to feel better. How long do you think it'll take for me to feel better again? Do you think it is food posoining? Can you recommend anything to make me feel better? Please help. Many Thanks.

It is possible that the chicken was the cause although not guaranteed, it can take up to 3 days for food poisoning to come out. i was told this by a Dr. Best cure i give to my kids with vomitting is dry toast and lemonade or tonic water. Hope you feel better soon. Stay off the booze for a few more days

Sure sounds like it. Chicken goes bad very quickly and if that Burger King's refridgeration wasn't perfect or the employees left it sitting out too long or undercooked it, the chicken could cause vomiting and diaherrea. Just take in a lot of liquids - flat gingerale, ultra-mild tea, jello, beef broth - to replace the fluids you lost. you will feel better in about two days.

If you have food poisoning and are showing improvement then I would guess you're doing well. This is going to sound weird, but... here it goes.

Ever hear of Goma shio? Sesame salt in English. Eat 1tsp every 2 to 3 hours for 3 days.

The mineral salt used in Goma shio kills bad flaura and fauna (ie.. bacteria, virus', germs) in the gut... and that is what food poisoning is.

After 3 days eat live culture foods like organic yogurt, raw kosher pickles from dairy section, malta, and organic cheese's to replace the good flaura/fauna. Should help.

But if you don't feel progressively better in two days see a doctor!!!!!!

Sounds like food poisoning alright, though I think you're over the worst of it. Keep drinking plenty of fluids and try some motillium - they're pretty good for a sick stomach. If you feel any worse go and see a doc. Get well soon!

It sounds like food poisening. What they gave to my sister at the hospital when she had food poisening was a coca cola! Try drinking it flat. The cola syrup calms the stomach. I hate Burger King!!!

Hope you have consulted with a doc. If not please do it.

Vomiting 12 times will make you very week. It may be food poision or may be a stomach upset. Make sure you drink enough amount of water

Get well soon.

Yes you do.

It took nine days for me to resolve my food poisoning, to the point that I could say it was thoroughly out of my system.

Good luck,..

Chicken was my problem from a fast food store also.

Food Poisoning Symptoms
Symptoms of food poisoning depend on the type of contaminant and the amount eaten. The symptoms can develop rapidly, within 30 minutes, or slowly, worsening over days to weeks. Most of the common contaminants cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramping. Usually food poisoning is not serious, and the illness runs its course in 24-48 hours.

Viruses account for most food poisoning cases where a specific contaminant is found.

Norwalk virus: Causes a mild illness with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, and low-grade fever. These symptoms usually resolve in 2-3 days. It is the most common viral cause of adult food poisoning and is transmitted from water, shellfish, and vegetables contaminated by feces, as well as from person to person.

Rotavirus: Causes moderate to severe illness with vomiting followed by watery diarrhea and fever. It is the most common cause of food poisoning in infants and children and is transmitted from person to person by fecal contamination of food and shared play areas.

Hepatitis A: Causes mild illness with sudden onset of fever, loss of appetite, and feeling of tiredness followed by jaundice, which is a yellowing of the eyes and skin. It is transmitted from person to person by fecal contamination of food.

I had it once, and I was fine after 3 days. It sure sounds like it was, too bad you didn't take your vomit to the hospital they could have tested it and you could have sued if it was.
