Why do we have fights with one another? What is the difference between a fight between two people, and a war between two nations? The impact may be different, but the source is the same.
James 4:1 "What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel."

Go for a stroll through the bush and grab a few bullants from one nest in a jar and carry them to another nest a few hundred metres away and drop them onto it. What results is why we have wars. We are still so primitive that we instinctively feel threatened by anyone who looks different, has a different culture, has a different god, wears different clothes to us. Its an inherited genetic instinctive survival mechanism to want to destroy people from a different 'tribe'. Only free thinking atheists are intellectually advanced enough to respect all living things.

As long as there are just TWO PEOPLE on the face of the Earth, then there will be disagreements and conflicts, because man is in a fallen state and fallible.

The majority of all wars in world history and the current wars are all religious based. Look at all the trouble in the middle east, if religion was gone all problems would be gone. No more holy land holy cite hole spot holy mosk holy church to get worked up about

Both, unfortunately war is a part of human behavior. It is the last resort of diplomacy and the highest form of opposition to others. I would hope that one day we could "outgrow" war but I think it is so ingrain into our being that it probably will never come to pass.

"Wars" are a simple thing to understand actually...
Everything you saw on the playground as a child was a precursor to life as an adult.
On the playground you get the following individuals;
The 'Power-Monger'...
The 'Bully'...................
The 'Weakling'............
The 'Starlet'.................
The 'Studious One'.....
The 'Leader'................
Each may or may not have a following that will fiercely protect this individual, sometimes by vocal means..... sometime physical.
