I'm short of space and a futon would be best but i've heard bad things about comfort, is a futon comfortable enough?

Yes... I've got a really comfortable one that is used every day.

Futons have come a long way since the beginning. I went to a futon store where I live and bought one that was about middle of the road price wise and I fall asleep on it all the time without any problems. Granted if you go to wal-mart and pick one up for hundred dollars or under, it probably won't be comfortable at all. The one that I bought has a double padded cushion with a zip up cover. You can get anything you want, it just depends on what you want to spend.

You can get futons that are designed very comfortably. I know my friend has one and it is sooo comfortable! It also is one of the ones that is a couch and then the side that is up just goes down and it turns into a big bed. Really neat and very nice.

depends what you buy. nowdays there are hundreds of styles. prices range from $100 for the skimpy futon matt & frame up to what ever you want to pay. now, they make a nice futon matt with a bonnell coil in it that is pretty nice for everyday use. match that up with a decent metal frame: about $250 futons are always full size

I used to have one and they can be very comfortable, it depends I suppose on the one you select. Make sure it has a fairly thick padding, if it is thin, it won't be very comfortable.

Yes, but you really need to buy a good one, that will be pricey but worth it if you are going to be sleeping on it. A cheap one will not be comfy and you won't want it for long term.

Why sleep the day away? Get a job!
