He did leave the Polar bear on the island. Haven't you seen Lost?
As for Noah's circumnavigation. They still thought the world was flat then. He would have fallen off.

Mount Ararat is almost 17,000 ft high. This is no hill.
Who is to say that modern day polar bears are not a result of brown bears adapting to a frigid environment? I believe that they have mated the two and created a fertile offspring.
Sounds like macroevolution to me. Bear is still a bear just looks different than his neighboring cousins.
This could've taken place since the flood, so that the ark may have had only a few species of specific types.

As a christian I can say that the OT shouldn't be taken as literal events. It's just a method of sending a message to the people who it was given to in a simple manner in which they would understand. Imagine tell people at that time : the whole universe was created by a big explosion. Or you are the result of evolution over millions of years! They wouldn't even know what millions of years were. So The OT should be taken as a kind of Holy mythology. This doesn't mean that it shouldn't be studied, used for spiritual growth and reflection.

no because the flood did not infact cover the whole world but just the area of the middle east he lived in. There is strong evidence that a major flood took place in that area at around that time. The stories in the bible are not meant to be taken literally though. For Noah that area was the whole world.
