Portable DVD player cost how much in Singapore? Also what is DVD-R ,DVD+R, DVD -RW and VCD?

Would like to buy one that can play all kinds of shows. How much and what brand is good?

I don't know which DVD players are available in Singapore.

DVD-R,+R, -RW, and VCD are all types of disks that contain video programming. The first 3 are DVD and typically can hold 2 hours of video. The -RW is a re-writable DVD that can be erased and re-written, the -R and +R types are write-once DVD's -- once you burn something to them, they can't be re-written (although sometimes they can be erased). If they are properly finalized in the original recorder, they will be readable by virtually all DVD players.

The VCD is a Video CD and holds much less video than a DVD (a DVD holds 4.7GB, a VCD holds 0.7GB). They are fairly uncommon, because you can't put much high-quality video on them like a DVD.
