Most atheist seem to prefer intellect and reason over religious faith, but I don't understand how they conclude there is no God, heaven or hell, and adamently defend this position. What proof exist to support this theory? I find this to be extremely conflicting.

In the absence of absolute proof, how can an opinion be formed?

Personally, until someone convinces/prooves to me that they have actually died (and I mean longer than a few minutes) and there is nothing after this life, I would rather appear foolish than be foolish while making ASSumptions about something that I can't prove. A certain amount of fear is healthy, particularly when there is no eraser and no do-overs..

In God’s presence, on a predestined day, all people, all living beings, the world, the sun, the moon, the stars, in brief, all the material world will disappear. In the Qur'an, this day is called the “Day of Resurrection”. This is “...the Day mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds” The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 83, Verse 6. On that day, a person will be too occupied to worry about others. He will even abandon his own mother, father, spouse and children.

The intensity and inconceivable terror of the Day of Resurrection will make everyone concern himself over his own affairs. God describes the Day of Resurrection as follows:
What will convey to you what the Day of Judgement is? Again! What will convey to you what the Day of Judgement is? It is the Day when a soul will have no power to help any other soul in any way. The command that Day will be God’s alone. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 82, Verses 17-19

When the Deafening Blast comes, that Day a man will flee from his brother and his mother and his father, and his wife and his children: on that Day every man among them will have concerns enough of his own. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 80, Verses 33-37

And thus the most precious social bonds in this life will come to a bitter end. The terror of that day will render all close relations and kinship meaningless. The only precious thing remaining will be faith:
Then when the Trumpet is blown, that Day there will be no family ties between them; they will not be able to question one another. Those whose scales are heavy are the successful ones. Those whose scales are light are the losers of their souls, remaining in Hell timelessly, for ever. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 23, Verses 101-103

Bonds and family ties break down in such a way that people would give their so-called beloved sons, spouses, brothers and even all their relatives in ransom for their own salvation:
No good friend will ask about his friend, even though they can see each other. An evil-doer will wish he could ransom himself from the punishment of that Day, by means of his sons, or his wife or his brother or his family who sheltered him or everyone else on earth, if only that meant that he could save himself. But no! It is a Raging Blaze. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 70, Verses 10-15

This “offer” is actually an indication of the pitiless and ungrateful nature of disbelievers which surface when their benefits are in question. This offer also warns of the vanity of this life. Often a person chases after trivial goals; for an admirable job, a beautiful house, or a woman, and for money he will work for a lifetime. However, as the Qur'an informs us, in his desperate efforts to be saved, a person will be willing to pay, not just a single woman, but all the women in the world or all possible possessions in ransom for his own personal salvation. However, these are all futile efforts. God is essentially the owner of all the possessions in the world. Salvation, on the other hand, remained behind, in the worldly life. It is too late now and, as promised, hellfire has already started burning.

Many people thinks that Christians can Not prove there is a God, Friend I can prove there is a God without even quoting the scriptures. Awhile back, about 4 weeks ago, someone ask to prove that the bible says God created the other universes, & stars, That can be found in Gen.1:16, Anyone that can see, the nature of a flower, or a tree, or the animal kingdom, or look at all the stars in the heavens, & the rotation of this planet, & why a persons body is made up to fight most sickness. I could keep on going all day, & I am aware atheisets will say that don't prove God, Then atheists, you prove to me that God is not real, I can counter attack each thing you say. And one day God will show his face to this world very soon.

In the absence of absolute proof, an opinion is formed based on probabilities, plausibility, and common sense. Most important to realize is that in the absence of absolute proof, nothing can be proclaimed as "truth". Therefore, any person or any text claiming "truth" calls for strong scepticism.

And "faith" is just that: it is the attempt to establish a "truth" without proof; even without solid evidence - even denying the chance to find proof or evidence. This concept is unacceptable for an analytical mind.

I, as an atheist, do not "conclude" there is no god. I simply see no reason to believe in one without any scrap of evidence. I could as well ask you: How do you conclude there is no flying spaghetti monster, and adamantly defend this position? What proof exists to support the theory that there is no flying spaghetti monster?
Don't you see that this sort of question is absolutely pointless?

Ok. First of all I can prove to you here and now what happens after you die, what its like when you’re dead, what it’s like when you’re not alive.

What do you remember before you were born?

Nothing.

That is exactly what's going to happen after you die. Nothing. So start living now, when you get a chance.

The concept of religion is different from every point of view. Most Christians actually believe there are erasers and do-overs. They believe in confession, the professing of ones sins in an attempt at forgiveness.

Your reasoning that atheists adamantly defend the position that there is no God, heaven or hell. That's what you just think; because it is very easy for atheists to very simply turn a debate around by asking a believer to materialize prove that there is a God. Not many people actually ask an atheist to prove that there isn't a God.

Most atheists don't care and just pigeonhole themselves to avoid cooky questions like "What do you mean you don't care?" Most atheists actually are agnostics. Where the existence or non-existence of God does not change or affect their life either way.

Also a lot of people choose not to believe in a religious God. Many people prefer to view God as the force that created....this. The multiverse. And beyond that, that it. It is not reasonable for God to have any sort of interactivity with us. A lot of people are turned off by ages old superstitions that seem to cause more chaos then good. A lot of the world's problems today seem to be fueled by differences in beliefs and the irrational need for others to realize the so-called truth. If there is a Christian, Jewish, Muslim God, then that God has allowed a lot of pain and suffering to occur, a large portion of it in his name.

There is something called Pascal's Wager. Pascal choose to believe in what Christianity taught because of the fear of the "what-if he was wrong conundrum”, believing for the sake of covering all bases. Believing because of fear? Screw that.

A human possesses reason, in reason stems conscience. That is what should be utilized. Not crudely translated ancient texts, over-edited and pounded into human invented misconceived guidelines. If God exists who are we to even assume a starting point for comprehension?

Athiests aren't the only people who don't believe in your God, heaven and hell. I think the problem Christians have with Atheists isn't that they don't believe in God, but that they realize there's nothing they can to do convert Athiests into Christians. The rest of us, who believe in deities, you probably think you have a fighting chance with, because we at least believe in something, and if you can just get us to turn away from Satan...but Athiests? You realize it's a lost cause. That's what the real "issue" with them is.

Oh, and your points mean nothing. There is no proof of a heaven or hell, either, which is why I don't believe in them.

The best known of Jesus’ resurrection miracles was that performed in behalf of his close friend Lazarus. In this case, there was a delay between Lazarus’ death and Jesus’ arrival at the family home. When Jesus finally reached Bethany, Lazarus had been dead for four days. When Jesus instructed that the stone covering the entrance to the burial chamber be removed, Martha objected, saying: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.” (John 11:39) Yet, any deterioration of Lazarus’ body did not prevent the resurrection. At Jesus’ command, “the man that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth.” The subsequent actions of Jesus’ enemies prove that it was indeed Lazarus who had come back to life.—John 11:43, 44; 12:1, 9-11.
Where did Lazarus go for those 4 days? You would think if he went to heaven or hell he would have said something and if he went to heaven, would you think it was wrong for Jesus to bring him back to this wicked world? Shows you death is the end of life and we can only hope for the Resurrection in the future.John 5:28-29--Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

Just because you cannot prove something it doesn't mean that you should therefore believe in it. That also doesn't make it true either. That is not a good reason for belief. There are a million things that we cannot disprove, Thor, Zeus, Unicorns, Fairies, The Flying Spaghetti Monster. But that doesn't mean that we should believe in them just because there is no proof.

You are an atheist with regards to Thor, Zeus and all the other Gods whose religion you weren't born into. I have just gone one God further than you.

They don't believe it because of reason, they believe it because of sin. If they accept the idea of God, that God demands obedience to His righteousness, and that is what they can't accept. You will never convince an athiest there is a God until you convince him he is a sinner. That is why they say there are no athiests in foxholes, because the fear of facing a God with unatoned sin in the life will drive any man to God.

You have your beliefs, we have our beliefs. I would have to say I have come to the decision that there is no god because well there just is not any evidence to convince me there is a god, just as you believe there is a god based on the fact it can't be dis-proved, I base my non-believe on the fact that it can not be proved. Is that really that crazy on either side, well maybe a little,

Praise the Lord! Better to believe and be saved than to not believe and be condemned. If there is no afterlife, then why bother being good? If there is no afterlife, then we might as well all act like animals. But we don't;therefore, ther must be an afterlife and we must be required to be accountable for the life we now live. This fear of death that we seem to have naturally instilled in us must come from somewhere, and it is my guess that this somewhere is the finger of God.
