haha, lol that was funny reminded me when my daughter used diaper rash cream and put it all over her face and hair, but found u the perfect solution Removing Vaseline
If you apply a little cornstarch to the hair and carefully pat it into the hair, it will absorb some, if not all the vaseline. After you apply the cornstarch you can shampoo it out with a good clarifying shampoo and it should be removed. If the vaseline is not completely removed in the first treatment, it will be removed to the point where one more treatment will remove all of it. Be sure to use warm to hot water in the shampoo. Cold water makes the vaseline worse.
Or you can try putting about 1 teaspoon of baking soda and mixing it with a regular baby shampoo and this should help. Unfortunately Vaseline is petroleum based and can be almost impossible to remove. If the clarifying or baking soda does not work, try using soft tissue to blot the hair and see if that removes some of it.
You can try a good clarifying shampoo like Edwin Paul Classic Shampoo, Vain Peppermint Strip or Philou Green Apple. Or you can try putting about 1 teaspoon of baking soda and mixing it with a regular baby shampoo and this should help. my daughter rubbed vaseline all over her hair a few months ago it was thick with it, this works...
wipe off all the excess and it will leave a very greasy mop!! lol then
cover it in talken powder as it will dry it through and just leave it on i left my daughters on for a day but she had a lot in, then wash it out with fairy liquid and then wash as normal but also use conditioner,
it definately works, but it does look funny when they have a mop of white hair, good luck

Been there with my own daughter (actually, with two of them, about five years apart.....). Unfortunately, all you can do that I am aware of is shampoo, rinse, repeat, shampoo, rinse, repeat, etc., etc..... If I recall correctly, it seems to take about a week of daily or near-daily shampooing before their hair was back to normal. I suppose you could condense all this shampooing into one massive hair-washing marathon, but mine wouldn't sit still long enough for me to do it more than about three times a day, and I was leary of trying any harsh cleansers or chemicals not intended for cosmetic use on humans because 1) I didn't want to unintentionally burn the scalp or hair, and 2) what if it got in their eyes (easy to have happen with squirming youngsters!)?
Chalk it up to the joys of parenthood, I guess! Hope this helps.

If none of that works try a little Naphtha on a rag and just run the hair thru the rag, it's made for cutting stuff like this but it's not to harsh.

I think it will take time but the best option is to keep washing with a good shampoo(for greasy hair maybe), dont try anything not made for young hair as it might do more harm then good!

Vaseline and shampoo don't mix. They are both slippery so trying to wash out Vaseline with shampoo my itself won't work. I suggest that to wet her hair in warm water then gently comb it with a big toothed comb and see how much comes out and then you can wash it with shampoo. Hope it works.

try mixing some bicarb into the shampoo that you use and then shampoo the hair. this seems to work for product build up eg hairspay and gel. it may work on the vaseline.

Comb it out and just keep washing. Give her a rest though, having a constant wet head she can get pneumonia.
