for one thing.. my 6 yr old brother and me is SOLID.
eventhough he is only my half bro, i still treat him as if he came
from my mom.. i am 17 yrs old right now, but i am not embarrased whenever im carrying him in public, i have been doing this all his life. that is because he wants it, not always but frequently. sometimes people even tend to think i am his father. but do you guys think it is time for him to grow up? i mean he'll be turning 7 in a couple of months and is it still appropriate if i still carry him like a baby? (but he will always be my baby bro even if he's like 21 lol) i love my lil bro!

It sounds to me that he just wants to be as close to you as he can. And also that he is proud that you are his brother so wants to be on the same level as you, looking you in the eye. Prettty soon he will himself decide that he's "too big" to be carried. And if not, you might find a way to tell him, something complimentary, like "Wow, you've gotten so big that I can hardly lift you!"

Does he act like a baby in other ways? Does he whine when he talks or talks like a big boy?

Does he still drink from a sippy cup?

If he is developmentally on track then I don't see anything wrong with letting his big brother carry him. It won't be many more years that he'll still have the option.

I still carry my 4 year old occasionally and he is a big guy too. I am sure many people think he is too big to be carried but he is still just a baby in my eyes :). I wish I could be carried myself sometimes!

Enjoy your little brother! SD

I think its nice of you. That he wants you to carry him (hopefully) speaks about how much effort you've put into making sure he knows you love him. And with you being a guy too, he probably doesn't consider it babyish. To him you've always done it, its just something big brothers do. If he's getting too heavy or you are self-conscious, then only carry him a little around the house. I think your brother is a very lucky little boy.

If he's sleeping or hurt, that's one thing, but at almost 7, he's definitely old enough to be walking on his own two feet.
