Any loss is brutal, and when someone takes their own life the bereaved's grief is compounded - after all who wants to die? But some people do, whether through devastating physical illness or mental illness - why should we force someone to live to stop ourselves feeling bad?

This may seem cruel but Suicide is not a criminal offence, but after the passing of the Suicide Act 1961aiding and/or abetting someone else is, and is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 14 years.
whilst not condoning this, my sympathy does go to those who are left behind, research has shown that many persons who commit suicide don't spend ages thinking about it, beause if they did they wouldn't do it!

its our instinct to want to help. if someone commits suicide we all feel we could have done something to help and therefore we all feel bad about it.
