we are all perfect in God's eyes. actually, we do not need make-up to please God or to insult Him.

make-up and any other physical enhancers are not for God's eyes. But for men. It is because of the standard of men that we have to wear make-up. We want the society to appreciate our beauty. But i am not implying that these enhancers are bad. what God looks at is the heart, the motives of the heart.

(i.e. if you just want to attract men by wearing make-up - then it is bad) but if you go to church and you think you might be distractive if you won't wear a make-up. then wear a make-up. in that way, you'll prevent your neighbors from sinning because they won't be having any reason to gossip about your appearance or to think negative things about you. there is a command in the Bible "do not put a stumbling block for your neighbor." by wearing a make-up, you won't be the cause of their failure. that's just an example. ahehe. there are so many applications.

Hello =)

Do you consider those with birth defects perfect??

Is it an insult to god to have corrective surgery for some condition that you have had since birth??

How about congenital illnesses, such as sickel-cell anemia, diabetes, or even obesity??

Are these things not to be treated, or managed??

There is nothing in creation that cannot be improved upon by the hand of man.......for, among his creations, the most perfect of all is our ability to create......after all, he made us in his image....the master creator, and us, creators aspiring to perfection.....

Namaste, and Happy New Year,

--Tom

If that were so, then it would be an insult to God to cut one's hair, or have a mole removed, or have one's teeth straightened.

One would hope that God would have bigger issues to be concerned about than whether so and so was wearing blue eyeshadow.

If we are made in the image of God, and if we have free will, then we, too, seek perfection. It's not a sin; it's not "vanity." It's part of God's gift to us.

He also gave us free will and the awareness of our progressive aging. Make-up is not evil. Hatred of one's body is simply a shame. I am not ashamed of my looks, but I see no harm in enhancing them.
