It depends what visa u r going 4 to the extent of the medicals. When I had my medicals it was only a week then I took them down to the immigration dept and got the visa there and then but my dad had more tests done than me but his was only a few weeks so really wither way not long. The thing that was taking the longest was finding somewhere to get the medicals done in a reasonably quick time as they were all booked up!

There are a number of processes you will need to undertake - bone scans, general check up, blood tests, etc. The time this takes will depend on how quickly you can get appointments for all of these things. It will also cost you a bit of money, so be prepared for that. If you are wondering how long the whole process will take from hereon in under normal circumstances you will still have several weeks to go. If you have time pressure due to booked tickets, all these things can be brought forward if you are resourceful, but you may need to make some trips to Australia House in London, and you may need to get outside your local area and pay privately to get scans and tests done.
