This is a valid question, it is the type of question that makes the athiest a valuable asset to society and why God has chosen this role for you. It's like this, are you going to say God is great and creation is awesome like the stars, the ocean, family, friends, ice cream, love, dogs, baseball etc etc, or are you going to whine and complain and say life sucks and theres no point and were just animals or whatever? It's a test, you figure it out. God's going to drop his ladder knowing not all will walk up it, only the chosen will understand, many will say the believe in God, but that won't stop them from sinning, so what does their believe mean? It's not that God loves a true believer anymore than his other children, he does'nt. A true believer acknowledges the greatness of this all and refuses to accept this as just chance because life is not, it's a gift and it's good. Yes, surely there are many bad things going on, good people die, people starve, yes, thats become our time is short, so act NOW. Fall in love, make peace with all your enemies, be positive.

He did. You are asking this question. You've been presented with the gospel of salvation. You know God exists in your heart of hearts. You want to know more about Him because He put that desire to know in your heart. The longing for Him to reveal Himself to you in a real way that you can feel and know for certain for yourself. You are going to be incomplete and unfulfilled no matter how great or successful your life seems socially or financially until your spirit is made whole through a relationship with your Maker. It's just like we choose who we love carnally. Sometimes it's bad choices. Sometimes we are decieved. God is the only good choice and there's no deception and never any ill will. Satan is the bad choice and appears as a good guy.
As babies, we don't have the powers of reasoning. That said, Helen Keller couldn't see, hear or talk (for years no communicative abilities) yet she knew God. How? God talks to the heart therefore even a fool (someone without understanding) need not err therein. (in finding the truth about God and believing in salvation).

There is one thing that God will not do, and I will even go one step further and say "cannot do". He cannot make you love him, and it be real. He doesn't want a bunch of programmed "i love you" automated beings around - He wants brethern - thats brothers and sisters. You cannot force real genuine care and love. As far as the choice being love God or eternal damnation, well actually God is very fair. When he returns there will be a 1000 year period of teaching (and disipline) so there won't be anybody around who doesn't know the truth. God knows with what tripe thats being taught, most of his children don't stand a chance of learning the Truth to be able to make an intelllegent decision. Nobody is gonna be blotted out until and unless they have the truth before them, have seen Christ so there is no doubt, etc, then judgement comes. God does not want your fake love.

I believe that we are already born accepting God in our hearts, but it fades with time, when the mind starts to come into the picture. Try to tell a 4 years old child about God, he will probably accept it more than adults. Exactly Like laughing, we are born with the capability to laugh but the more we grow the more difficult it is to laugh.

i like what you try to assert here yet i'm no longer able to bypass alongside with the analogy. The Holy Spirit enters our bodies no longer the soul of believers. And He does not direction with the aid of us as blood with the aid of our veins. I see it extra like the Holy Spirit taking over residency interior a house (or temple which we are) and installation housework. The extra we enable Him to do His job the extra helpful we are for it. The cleanser He makes us the extra helpful we characterize the owner which will make us extra desireable to others. each and every so often analogies help and each so often they ward off. extremely some human beings whilst witnessing will ask yet another, "might you want to ask Jesus into your heart." this may even make youthful toddlers ask ... Will He in good condition? and adults ... is this person whacked out? from time to time i've got considered toddlers frightened with the aid of the possibility of Jesus attempting to get of their heart. i think of we would desire to relatively evaluate the connotation of ways any anaolgy we use will impact the hearer.

We are not born with sin. We actually accept God into our hearts the moment we are born.
Babies are born pure. That is why babies that die before they grow up will go to heaven / paradise.
When we grow up, it is up to us to choose whether to remain pure and follow the right path or choose to commit sins.
Babies do not inherit the sin of Adam & Eve. Even Adam & Eve after eating the forbidden fruit have repented to God and God has forgiven them and accepted their repentance. Therefore, there is no original sin to be inherited by every born babies.
If you never heard this kind of teaching, it is because the above teaching is not from Christian but from Islam. Under Islamic teaching, every babies are born pure and without any sin. If the babies die before they grow up, they are guarantee to go to heaven / paradise.

I believe we do not actually know how to laugh and cry (the way the adults do) when we are born.
Most babies learn to cry with tears (a new born only screams for attention) after a while and they take a few months to learn how to put on "social smiles".
I think I read it somewhere. I maybe wrong though....

Because we need to feel and experience God, we can't just be born knowing he exists. As you said, free-will would mean nothing if we were born KNOWING God exists. By the time we mature we can make up our mind, but while we are still in the state of ignorance he will forgive us.

For by sin death entered into the world that all have become blind to the knowedge of God and the things of God. For God in his goodness gave us all free will not as the angle who are servants unto God. But free will as one gives his children that by our own free will we can believe and recieve Gods best or we can reject God and his best. In doing this God has gave us a choose and not forced himself on us. Then he send himself to suffer our punishment thatwe could be redeemed unto God. now it is up to us what we want and what we reject. With out free will could we ever know GOD. With out winter could we know summer.

It doesn't matter when you're newborn; you don't know right from wrong. It must be a conscience decision, and you must understand what you are doing, That's why infant baptism is pointless, and up until the child can understand what he/she is doing, it's an exercise in futility.
