you cook them in olive oil or fat. When the fat is liquid, you use a large spoon, collect some of the liquid in the bowl of the spoon and pour it over the meat. It keeps the meat moist rather than drying out and gives you a lovely crackling skin to it.
You should baste every half hour.
Tip the meat dish to the far right hand corner to get the liquid to gather there, unless you are left-handed then go to far left.
hope it tastes good

Basting involves cooking meat with either its own juices or some type of preparation such as a sauce or marinade. Prominently used in grilling, rotisserie, roasting and other meat preparations where the meat is over heat for extended periods of time. Basting flavors the meat and keeps it moist.

Basting is also a sewing term that means to temporarily stitch two pieces of fabric so sizing can be adjusted before the final, tighter stitch is put in.

To baste means to spoon either the juices from the cooking or the oil that you are cooking in over the meat or vegetables.

leave the meat in a bed of oil, and pour some oil over the top and sides of the meat while cooking. (Usually with a spoon, or a special device called a baster) This is called Basting.

typically it means to pour the meat's natural juices over the meat as it cooks to keep it moist and tender. however in the case of ribs- may i suggest a nice bbq sauce to marinade in for at least an hour (or whatever u like). wrap in foil and put on bbq or in the oven making sure that u keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn. some marinades contain lots of sugar so it will caramelise the meat but it also makes it easier to burn.

Baste when it is starting to look dry (but not too dry) and make sure u check that the meat is cooked to your liking by making a small cut to make sure it is not underdone.

Bon appetite

It means spoon the juices that are coming out of them back over them, but ribs are a bit dry so use a bit of oil.

while the meat etc is cooking in the oven, every now and again spoon the juices they are cooking in over the top of them to help them cook and keep them moist.
