I have always been underweight and now I am determined to do something about it. I am 5'10 and weigh 8st11 (124lb).I want to get to 10 stone at least. I know I have to eat more calorie rich foods but my problem is that my partner has obese parents and a tendency to put on weight very easily so I cant cook high calorie foods and when we go to the supermarket together I cant buy high calorie foods as I feel bad he cant eat them. What can I do to eat more calories and keep my partner slim?

Hmm planing to gain weight.....

You should try wgt increasing packs of Body grow or any other health supplement........

PLs do not buy any health supplement without doctors advise..............

I think there are health drinks for variety of needs.

Drinks for bodybuilders--- might bulge your triceps out...............

There are different health drinks for different people..............only a doctor can suggest you the best which can work for your kindaa body.......

Enjoy your weight gain..................

You don't sound like your that badly under weight... If you want to put on weight why don't you go out other times in the day, when it's not meal time and indulge in the calorie rich foods when your partner isn't around. That way you don't have to feel guilty, because he probably does it too, and you can put on the desired pounds.
You can also try adding things to your meals, dressings, sides, anything that can be high in calories, really good, but only you like, like accessories, something that you can put with your meals. He may not want them, and you can add as much as you want to your own particular meal.
Hope this helps, take care.

Try wieght lifting...I dont mean serrious weight lifting but like add some weights and lift them Muscle weighs more than fat...

Just coz your husband has those problems dosnt mean you cant stop at the mc D's after work have that afternoon whooper...Either way...

5ft 10 and 124 is not really underweight. its pretty Ideal when you look at some of the newer looks onto new updated weight charts the BMI scale is way out of order. But the true test is if you are happy with yourself. than that is all that counts.

Exercise more! I used to be skinny and underweight, and I realised that when I exercise alot and regularly, I will put on weight. I'm not sure if it's true, but I've heard it's because when you exercise alot you tend to build more muscles thus gain more muscle mass. The good thing about this method is that you can gain weight without turning obese!

Try the milk powder of brand Ensure. I've heard that it helps one gain weight! And I've heard that some hospitals offer Ensure milk to frail elderly patients to help them gain weight. Not sure if it's true!! I've not tried it before personally.

Your lucky. I just need to look at a chocolate bar and I put on weight.

As long as you are eating healthy then you've got nothing to worry about.

You coould start putting sugar in your tea, coffee and breakfast cereal if you didn't before.

I wouldn't worry about it as this could be the problem.

Good Luck ;-)

you do less exercise (not too much) and just generally eat slightly more maybe when you partner is not around and so he will not feel so left out about not being able to eat the same amount of food!!!

check your body composition before deciding what to eat.... if you have too much fat you need to loose it first (cardio and low fat) and then put on muscle (weights and proteins). If your fat is in normal range then you need to put on muscle (weights and proteins) and eat complex carbs.
