Yes she could donate it rather than selling. But if her money strings r too tight then i guess she would go for selling.

i have noticed a lot of people selling their wedding gowns on Ebay ..

Donating is a nice thing to do, but if your friend needs the money and will put it to good use, then I can understand her doing so

personally, id keep the wedding gown - its memory of a special day, it can be passed down to others in the family etc ..

It is her gown, and she can sell it if she wants. Maybe she needs money, or thinks it will be better taken care of if she sells it instead of donating it.

Donate to who??? YOU. Why would you comment on what someone should do with there property?? That would be like me telling you, you SHOULD be giving 1/2 your paycheck to woman with breast cancer, they need the money more then you!!
It's you friend right to sell her property and maybe she wants that money for something special for the baby.
Your a strange bird.

she can sell it, why not? some people wud prefer to buy a cheaper gown that fits their budgets as long as it is in a good condition
I personally got offers from people to buy my wedding gown but I refused as it means so much to me.

it's her thing, there's nothing wrong selling her wedding gown,it's just a thing.the story behind that wedding gown is what matters.

Sure she could sell it but If it were me, even though i cant wear it, I would keep it for sentimental reasons. I would get it cleaned and pack it real good. Maybe my daughter would want to wear it one day.
