Because Isreal has never said that the past didn't happen or that another nation state didn't have the right to exist. And has Isreal ever actually admitted that they have nuclear weapons. No they have hinted and suggested that they have them to disade potential attackers. Where as Iran will most likely use them if they manage to achieve atomic weaponry.

I would like to see the world divest themselves of these weapons, but at this time it is not a realistic possibility. In the meantime it is incumbent for the powers that be to try and limit the possibility of rogue nations acquiring weapons technology due to the possibility that they are more likely to use them. What you really need to consider is long term consequences of these actions. If Iran develops nuclear weapons and at some point decides to use them against Israel this really would be the beginning of World War III. It is not just the United States that does not want a nuclear armed Iran, it is instead most of the free world.

Israel definitely has atomic weaponry, however, no one including the USA knows the quantity involved. Israel is a democracy and they would NEVER use an atomic bomb unless one of the Arab countries used one on them. Whether you know it or not, Israel wants to live in peace and prosperity. They love music and also have large research and development facilities for medicine and industry. They are an industrious nation and want to remain that way. They do not want war especially with atomic weaponry. They do not trust Iran and may decide to put Iran's atomic development program out of commission within the next few months. Iran threatened to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. In such a case wouldn't you want to defend yourself if the situation arose? You bet you would. But Israel will not use atomic weaponry unless Iran or another Muslim nation bombed them first.
