she is far too young right now, and I wouldn't consider it until her second season, but what I want to know is how would I find a male poodle to mate her with?

I'm in Melbourne Australia.

I never thought about making money. Indeed, breeding would cost me in vet fees.

I didn't ask for judgement. My dog is beautiful and has a sweet temperament and I am CONSIDERING breeding her. I am looking for intelligent information, not condemation.

There is nothing wrong with breeding and not everyone wants pure bred dogs.

THINK before you post.

OK, so when clients ask me this question I do my best to prepare them.So here goes...First, your dog should be at least 2 years old to breed her.Make sure she is HIP and HEART certified. She has lab in her, she could definitely have hip problems. She has poodle in her, she could definitely have heart problems.Your vet will have to send you to a specialist for the heart certification, but you will get more money for the puppies if they are certified in both.Next, save up about $3,000 for a possible cesarean section or any of the other multitude of things that can happen with breeding.(Prolapsed uterus, eclampsia, etc...) Also, don't listen to other breeders when they try to give you advice.Listen to your veterinarian. They are quite knowledgeable about these things:).It will also be in your best interest to have her x-rayed during her pregnancy to see how many puppies you can expect.Make sure she is on heart worm preventative and is up to date on vaccines to protect her and the puppies.Veterianrians also will be able to find a suitable male to breed her with.Sorry, I know it is long, but I wanted to make sure you were prepared.Good luck!

I also want to stick up for you! There is no reason why you can't breed your Labradoodle other than health issues. As long as you have your dog checked out, and the vet feels that the dog is reasonably free from genetic defects, than by all means breed your dog.

Mixed breeds are how all dogs started out many generations ago.

why would you want to breed a crossbreed?
so you can make money? I hope not! get her desexed... if you really want to breed... find a breed to breed and make sure you tell that to the person that bred your crossbred dog! I have heard to many bad things about these designer dogs. I wish the breeders would actually put efoort in to breed the dogs to a standard and actually make a breed instead of being backyard breeders doing it only for the money!

Sorry, but I have no information to give you regarding dog breeding. I do, however, want to stick up for you! You really have received answers that are a load of crap!!

I have worked as a carer for people with disabilities. We had pet labradoodles living with some of the clients and they were amazing. They did not shed any hair, were clean, well trained and very intelligent animals. One of these amazing dogs could also detect epileptic seizures before they occurred.

Please, breed your dog. The world needs more labradoodles.

Happy New Year to you and your dog!

Like the shelters aren't full enough with mixed breed MUTTS that you have to ADD TO THE PROBLEM? Don't breed a mutt!

What on earth for? There's plenty of beautiful, sweet mutts being put down daily.
