I think the best way is to speak frankly and let him know of your concerns. You could say something like:
.............(his name), yo te quiero mucho y necesito poder confiar en ti. Por favor sé siempre un hombre honesto y no me ocultes cosas, así podrás ganarte mi confianza completamente.
