No he sould not be put to death.
The death penalty has been abolished in every modern civilized country.

Eventhough i donot know how far is saddam guilty, i agree with you in life imprisionment rather than hanging, but think the other way, if he is life imprisoned and if he is really guilty he still can controll being inside prison. but it should be left to the total public of Iraq than we discussing and deciding it. Will he be able to win a fair election? then is he guilty or not? Tough to answer.

The president of Iraq is going to get hanged. Personally I think the whole trial was nothing but a Kangaroo Court. The Bush and Shia coalition intended to lynch him from the start.
It will be one more mistake. He will become a matyr.
Seeing this excecution anybody facing a Western invasion will be sure to have weapons of mass destruction and will be willing to use them.
There is no gain in surrendering if you are going to be killed anyhow.
I suppose that this will be considered the new rule of warfare now.

Killing Saddam will only increase the current Violence in Iraq, remember Saddam was said to have killed 16,000 or fewer people, but recently 600,000 people was said to have been killed in Iraq since after Invading the Country... Then what is the real problem here, is Saddam really a problem to Iraq, can't people understand the difference between Peace and Freedom, Peace is better than Freedom... I think...

thats why America is messed, he needs to hanged, only God can judge him now.
I believe we need much stricter punishments in America, not (hey commit a crime well give you a nice bed and 3 meals a day, workout facility, TV , video games)....
Cut the hands of the thief, fraudsters etc..
Execute the Rapists and Murders and Drug Dealers and Users
Watch the crime rate drop after one year of implementation

Polly Klaas is dead because someone had a second chance. Megan Kanka is dead because someone got a second chance. Adam Walsh is dead because someone got a second chance. Countless murders, rapes, assaults, robberies, fraud, and adultery occur because someone got a second chance.
Hang the bastard. It's fitting that he admired Benito Mussolini. Now he can do his human pollyanna act too.

For all the things he did to his own people, yes he needs to be hung. He and his sons killed a lot of people, now it is time to send him where he can be punished for eternity.

Nope. To do so is to commit the same crime he committed. I wouldn't even have someone like Hitler hanged. They should be locked away for the rest of their lives though. And if they choose to be euthanased, then that is their right.

I do think this is a decision necessarily left to the Iraqi people. What we think is inconsequential, relative to the matter.
