That is the Christian's version of a curse or hex. It makes them feel holy and spiritual that the are claiming to pray for you. Also if you examine them, they will be the type of person that likes to make people mad.
Not all are practising christians.
An example about 6 months ago I had a man to try and turn around in my driveway with a huge trailer and he knew he did not have room, so he went past my pickup and deleberately drove on my property about 20 feet or so and when I went out and confronted him, he got mad, wanted to fight and then had the odasity to tell me I am not nice and that he will pray for me.
I had to call local law enforcement and found out the pick up and trailer he had is not regiestered with my state and the peace officers did not tell me what it was, but said he had a long criminal record.
This man probably has never seen the inside of a church building, but it made him feel "Chjristian" to say he would pray for me even though he was in the wrong.
A true Christian will apologize for any wrong they may have done. Read the account of Zachies(spelling). When he had personal contact with jesus he was so humbled that he was willing to do whatever it took to make amends.
Remember all religions are filled with those who really are not what they claim.

well, the scriptures do say follow chastizement with a greater love.
personally I will pray for people in the lords prayer.
but most of the time, I will pray for my enemies to die. it makes me feel better if i do!
At one time for seven years i prayed daily that I would die. When i did DIE several times i found i kept getting SENT back. LOL am i reject or what?
i have been accused of bigotry and hate but the only time i ever really lost it was ONE time. everything else i believed was just acceptible.
and please dont misunderstand STERN rebukes and quotes from the bible as being hatefilled. Unless of course you yourself are hatefilled against christians. I find you get what you send. And if you reply in like manner that you are sent/received from you will always no doubt escalate the offenses.
that why Jesus said a kind word turns away wrath

Only the "fundies" to this. The moderate Christians just ignore you if they are insulted, or respond with at least a reasonable response. The people that do this think that by "praying for you" that God will make YOU realize that THEY are right and that you should come over to THEIR side. Its illogical, but that's what fundaMENTALists think.

It's kind of a magic charm against the consequences of saying what they do; it puts all the previous nastiness into a frame of being a "good person".
I have a Southern friend who tells me that there is something similar in Southern culture; you can say any nasty, mean, small-minded, petty thing about anyone, so long as you end it with 'Bless his (her) heart"

i imagine that is massive, although i do not extremely care what they do. i'm confident they recommend nicely, yet i do not locate it presumptuous as we've basically had a theoglogical communicate and understand my perspectives. And... not confident what you recommend with the help of rejoinder. do not sacrifice the goat until eventually you intend on utilizing the beef for nutrition.

That's their way of telling you that they're turning
their other cheeks( the big floppy ones), but they must cover their crude behavior so as not to detract from the image of their wonderful self.
