Well...
In Islam yes
in many Islamic run countries no
The Quran teaches that everyone is equal black, white, man, woman, blond hair, green eyed, everybody.
But... many of the countries int heMiddle East are not run acciording to these principles its sad but hey
as far as yiour questions go
Can a man kill his female relative for moving out of the faith? In Islam no
Are women supposed to cover their bodies so that men will be able to control their sexual urges better? Partially
it didn't say it directly but it has been interpretted as that. But it is not like if you don't wear a hijab you will not go to heaven. Many women wear it to priotect their modesty. So people will get to know them for their brain and not their looks, and also just to show that they are true to thier faith and have the will piower to withstand many of the criticisms in western countries.
What are the other poitns in islam that are discriminating towards women? To tell you the truth I beleive there are some.
Men sit in front at prayers to name one
but also to elaboprate a little the Quran was written/interpreted ina time where tyhe worlkd was very sexist so many of those thought could have contributed and we may need to modernize our interpretations
but you know sometimes we shouldnt say sexist against women but just sexist in general
for example the woman stay home and take care of the kids while the men go work
its sexist against women because they dont get to work
its sexist for men because they have to work
its twisted
so ya sorry I was rambling

yes of course, in islam women and men both have equal rights. Women supposed to cover their bodies so men would just stop staring and looking at them. For the first question, a man has no right to kill a female relative for moving out of faith because this is what she believes in and no1 has the right to control a person's religion. I believe tht islam is the true and right religion.

Women have many rights in Islam. However, generally speaking, women have less rights than men in Islam. They are not allowed to go out of their homes. They are not allowed to spaek to strangers. They are not even allowed to shake hands with a starnge man. They are not allowed to speak in public. Women usually inherit half what men inherit. A man can divorce his wife (on condition he gives her all her financial rights), but a woman can not do the same. A man can marry 4 wives, but a woman can not do the same.
Do not forget that all of this was 1400 years ago

"Are women supposed to cover their bodies so that men will be able to control their sexual urges better?"
Last I checked, women can't go topless in public in the US while men can. Guess it's all just a question of culture and degree of covering up to control men's urges..
And wife beating had been a much accepted (hidden) American practice until the women's right's movement just a few decades ago.
Anyhow. America not too long ago (60 years) wasn't so much different from Islam today.
Forgot to mention segregation, lynching, KKK=Taliban......etc also.
That's what I think.

Kind of because a women have to cover her body because no sexual men could harm her or flirt with her.A man is not supposed to kill a female but respect her as a one. What i'm really not comfortable with is covering their hair in public cuz that abandon the women from many things
-Hope that helps!

Yes Islam is based on education and the right to every man and woman to know the last update from GOD.Islam established the term Human Rights in areas like social classes quality, women rights
, abolishment of slavery where in past the world did not recognize any human rights
In the past women were sex propriety where the in west the catholic church called for one marriage only there was no freedom to divorce and men committed Adultery most of the time remember king Henry lovers
Islam gave women the right to divorce husband for his bad looks beside other things.

I'll let you research the womens issue, you might like to know that 4 out of every 5 converts are women. This site has much information on what you are looking for
http://www.islamfortoday.com/women.htm#Rights
British Journalist (non-muslim) on how Islam liberates women
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4314573,00.html
The women are supposed to cover for modesty. Think when you see a of a Muslim women who covers, think of a Nun (do you see the resemblance). Yes, sexual urges has some part to do with it, obviously you can see here in America what the opposite affect has...
The modesty, generates respect for women, unlike in society here, where you can see what has happened and how men treat women like garbage here and yet they still stay with them.. (i never understood that)
but since I try to be pious I don't date, no sex till marriage.
So women are taken care of good, they don't have to worry because their husbands will provide for them, and before they get married their parents do.
