I would say communism had a lot more in common with atheism. Lenin said that religion is the 'opiate of the people' and the communist did everything they could to stamp out religion and are still doing that in china, vietnam, north korea and other places. In the old Soviet Union they used to put christians in mental institutions. It was an atheistic state. If atheists want to know what it would be like to live in a totally atheist state just look at the communists countries. Communism has killed 170 million innocent people since its' onset.

Communist Russia was atheistic because they did not want "any" organized social construct to challenge their authority over the masses. Whether it be other political parties, foreign media, artistic/cultural/ideological movements, labor unions, or organized religion.
It's really as simple as that. They wanted to take away all of the organized opposition. Had nothing to do with any moral affinity for atheism.
They set them selves up as absolute moral authorities. Exactly like any organized religion.

i imagine in essence you responded your man or woman question. when we matter on faith, or on political leaders, to inform us what we anticipate of and how we ought to continually act, we are denying our personal inate means to reason and self-make certain. i'm an atheist, does not favor to be a communist or a facist, and extremely position self belief in guidance from some uncomplicated concepts to work out me with the help of. Ignoble political platforms and religions actual exist to promote and keep up power over others. The Crusades, the inquisitions, the regulations antagonistic to clergymen interior the RC church marrying - those were all power performs with the help of diverse factions, and characteristic not some thing to do with holding the tribe reliable. they are about gathering and (ab)utilizing non-public wealth and power. Our cutting-edge parliamentary equipment has in a large number of procedures replaced the favor to create/take care of religions. power is exercised with the help of a representative democracy. at the same time as actual a incorrect equipment, that is an progression over totalitarian platforms; although in u . s . a . that is now so corrupted with the help of massive organization and private power that it not serves the human beings that are supposedly represented. Politics and faith are 2 factors of the same situation. Society relies upon for its power on regulations which includes not killing or harming one yet another in a tribe; although damage antagonistic to a unique tribe is customary the position that seems to develop the first tribe's possibilities of survival and boom. those uncomplicated tribal concepts pre-date Christianity, and underpin it. the pills Moses carved on the mountain really codified the regulations which could make a tribe reliable.

Communism is a political ideolog subject to a construct designed to keep personal power at a minimum.
Religion is a spiritual construct aimed at praising and serving a floating creator-ghost in the sky.
In both cases, the individual is invisible.
