Twist different sections of your hair while it is wet(just take a bit of hair and turn in it a circle down to the tips), and you can get some loose waves as it dries. They won't be well-formed tendrils by any stretch, though.

You can also put your hair in velcro or felt rollers overnight, but I've never really been a fan of how those come out.

You can always scrunch your hair (with or without mousse depending on your desires) while it's wet to get some loose wavy hair.

Not that I can think of. I have long blond hair from which I can bring out natural waves very easily. After my shower, I wrap my hair up in a towel. Within 5 minutes, comb it and put some mouse throughout. Flip my head upside down and scrunch hair using a hair dryer until hair is partially dry. Spray with hair spray and scrunch it again. Let it dry for about an hour and then comb. Beautiful waves and I don't have to bother curling my hair.

some shampoo can help your hair but there cannot be miracles if you don't do anything more... at least use the curlers
