Quickly, politely, follow and catch up to that random person . . . remove one of the roses from the bouquet . . . brush it to his cheek, smile, hand him the one rose, say thank you . . . than turn and walk back in my own direction . . . After all, he was a 'random person'. If he wanted to return to approach me and actually stay for a conversation, I'd smile and talk with him as he would have properly introduced himself at that point.

give the flowers away. They probably were meant for someone else who did not show up for a date so the random person gave them away because of that. I would not want flowers that were meant for some other person.
