or give it a chance? I've been on adderall and cymbalta for about a month now and while I feel a little calmer, im more irritable and impatient than before. The last few nights I have been having trouble sleeping, waking up in the middle of the night and I also feel dry-mouthed at work. I also am having erectile problems. Should I change up? I am on 90 mg on cymbalta and a low dose of adderall.

I want to get better, and I know exercise will help with it too, but im really flustered.

The cymbalta is probably the cause of the down low dysfunction and the sleeping issues could be due to taking the adderall too late at night. You could try to take it earlier or take it in divided doses. Example: if you were on 50mg twice daily, you could take 25mg 4 times daily and maybe that would lessen the irritability. This should be discussed with your doctor before you try to do that though. Also you can ask for something that might make it easier for you to sleep. Lunesta is a good choice for sleep problems, it's not a tranquilizer like most of the meds out there, it's calmer than anything that I've tried but it's actually does work. If you do try it though be sure to get the 3mg because anything less than that would be too weak for a child lol. I don't know what all you are taking these meds for but it's common to mix other meds into the cocktail to tailor them to your needs. Just talk to you doctor about your concerns and don't stop taking your medications until you talk to the doctor. You should just be able to call so don't worry too much about setting an appointment. If you would like to talk more about this, you can email me. Good luck.

Always talk to your doctors about anything concerning your medication before you take action. Another thing to think about is if even with the side effects are you better off than you would be without the medicine at all? I don't really think that you can find a medicine that won't have some side effects. The entire game is to find one where the side effects don't cause as much trouble as the illness the drug is for. If the side effects are bothering you though you should talk to your doctor. I know that I have very strong reactions to some medications so my doctors have always avoided the ones that have a large chance of side effects because I tend to have them worse than average. Your doctors might know of a "gentler" medication that might work for you and just started you with this one because it's been proven to work better. Talk to your doctors, lay all your cards on the table and they'll probably do the same. Their job is to improve your quality of living and if you don't give them adequate input they can't do that.

Never change your dose or quit your medicine without speaking to your doctor first. There are many meds that have bad reactions if you change things suddenly.

I'm guessing that none of us here will adequately be able to help you. I know it's not what you want to hear, but the best thing to do is to speak with your doctor about these side effects.

Sometimes you have to try a few different things before you find the right combination. Try to be patient, and get started with your exercising!! =)

Best wishes.

Sometimes side effects can be so troublesome that the person may have to stop taking the med and try a different drug. Often after a couple of weeks side effects diminish and disappear once your body gets accustomed to the drug. If this isn't interfering too much with your functioning then I'd say give it a couple more weeks. If they don't start to diminish after that then talk to your doctor about it.

before you stop taking any medication i would check with your doctor first, obviously you are on it for a reason and we wouldn't want to take you off something that you need, Some medicines do take a really long time for your body to adjust to, while others, unfortunatly, give you some negative side effects in order to help with the other problems....you have to take the good with the bad!! I would definitly talk to your doctor though if your side effects are getting bothersome, he may be able to lower your dose or switch you to a different med!! Good luck!!

I would suggest you go back and talk to your doctor. This sounds like a dosage change is required. There are side effects with medicine and some you can bear. Some you can't.
