Just an FYI to Laura, and no disrespect intended at all, wheat actually contains gluten and has to be avoided for people on a health-related gluten free diet. I had never heard of Chapatti flour before so I was glad to read your explanation of it. :)

If you have gluten intolerance of some sort, such as celiac disease, you would have to avoid Chapatti flour.

But like Laura said, even without an intolerance to something, too much of any one thing can give anyone indigestion.

I would stop eating it completely for a period of time (a couple of weeks?) then try it again.

Celiac disease is an intolerance to gluten (wheat, rye, barley and oats). Because it's difficult for doctors to diagnose, it takes an average of 11 years for a person with celiac to be diagnosed. (18 years for me.)

Here's a webpage by the National Institutes of Health on celiac -
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/celiac/

And another from the Mayo Clinic -

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/celiac-disease/DS00319

If that starts sounding familiar here are a couple of message boards for people with celiac and other gluten intolerances.

You can also be intolerant to other common foods and experience symptoms such as indigestion. Soy, corn, eggs, yeast, dairy, etc. You may want to think about keeping a food/symptoms journal and see if you can identify the culprit(s).

I hope you feel better soon.

Chapatti flour is a type of flour produced from whole wheat that has been ground to a very fine consistency. It is extremely popular in India and is used to prepare a number of Indian flatbreads including chapatis and rotis... anything in excess can harm you (with the possible exception of sex... do you mean too much vitamin A???

i dont think it can really harm you... How much of this can you eat??

and yes it is gluten free

I think the answers already given are very good and while I don't feel I can add to them I would recommend drinking Aloe Gel by Forever Living. This is a very strong Aloe Vera drink, which helps digestion. It also helps people who suffer from ulcers and IBS. I take it daily just to give me a bit more energy. It's very good for keeping Arthritis at arms length also.
