Most people feel they are choosen by God to judge others. Besides they do not care what the bible says. Look closely and you will find that God's will, is their will.

It's only a sin to judge what you don't practice the gospel of Jesus in your own life and tell someone else it's wrong or expect them to keep a tradition that isn't God's law and is too great a burden to bear and you aren't willing to help carry that burden yourself. Christians and all people judge. It simply means to form an opinion. I cannot literally judge but I can inspect obvious fruits or lack of. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he and people always reveal this when they speak. The Word of God is the measuring stick for us all. Actually, the one who uses it to measure someone else wrongly will suffer chastisement of greater proportions and be judged for knowing to do good and not doing it and by their own words will be condemned. Also, Christians will judge angels and the world before it's all said and done. Most Christians admit they are included in the daily task of growing in the faith and being perfected in love as we go. We just try to balance faith, hope, love and charity all at once while we give the message out. Some people are won to Christ in different ways. Whatever it takes to pluck them from the fire, to go into the highways and byways and compel them to come in. The world hates Christians because the spirit of Christ and their clean lives reproves the world of sin by shining the light of God's Word upon their works of darkness. We hope you will come to the light of the truth by the hearing of the Word.

You'd get different answers depending on your definition of "to judge others". If you mean "to think/say someone is doing something wrong" then Christians are supposed to judge things and be aware of what is sinful or wicked. If you mean "telling people, 'Go to hell' or trying to punish people for their sins" then that Christian is at fault. Christians need to distinguish righteousness from wickedness, but when it comes down to it, all we (Christians) can do is pray that people find the right way, while meanwhile we concentrate on our own spiritual walk. We can judge, but we cannot condemn.

God says for us to watch one another so we can live a better spiritual life before God. It's true that some christians judge so much but that doesn't mean they don't have to say what's true.

it makes people feel better and more superior.
its a psychological ego trip.
most of it is delusional and denial
But truly there are people who speak the truth no matter what. and judgments can be true, if by people who have taken the sin out of their own lives.
some people preach in reciprocation. in self defense against those that are oppressive and truly evil. john the baptist was beheaded after all for preaching the truth. Actually he offended the evil mistress and she seduced her daugther to dance. I would say their Judgment was a little faulty in the first place to condemn a man to death

It is a sin to prejudge people. But people have to be judges without prejudice.

Because we are sinners!

By "judge" you mean condemn I think... that is different from judging - weighing between good and bad is a right thing to do. By contrast, it is not our place to condemn.

Lots of churches teach that their members should pressure others to join their church by the threat of Hell. They grow up being frightened with threats of Hell and they pass it on.
