I am a gunner. When Gilberto first joined Arsenal I thought of him as Patrick Vieria's back up but Vieira was the main man.
Last season he was injured and we missed him alot, however since returning from injury he has taking Vieira's old role and made it his own. He is brilliant in this role and I think he is also helped Fabregas settle into the team the same way Vieria helped him.
I think he should be the Arsenal Captain and Toure should be vice captain.
I think Henry is a quality player but not much of a captain.
I think Titi does not want to hog the ball as a captain and passes when he should shoot. Also there are times when Henry does not play well, he needs someone to help him get his head back up, having a captain like that an't be good for the team.
Henry is class act but Gilberto is like Vieira and Vieira was a great captain.

i think that Gilberto is well on the way to becoming Arsenals sung hero! im no arsenal fan but i think he is a brilliant player, always gives 100% and gives Arsenals young, attack-minded team the licence to get forward.
Arsenal blatently gave Henry the captaincy to keep him there but Gilberto seems to be a harder working, more committed, leading by example kind of captain and if i played for Arsenal i would rather have him as my captain instead of Henry who seems to go into a sulk if everything soesnt go right for him.

I agree, Gilberto leads by example and is fully commited to every game. Having no primadonna issues he just gets on with it which brings success and respect. Many players can learn a lot from him. Dennis Bergkamp used to say great things about him, which should be good enough for anyone in my opinion.
