In the bible there is a verse says like this " Act 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
You know sometimes we people feel that God is far from us but the truth is, He is just there waiting for us to comeback to His loving arm. Pray to Him and ask Him to guide you, I know He will listen. ( Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:) If you want to know God this is the first step.
The Lord said in "Pro 1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. ".

Talk to Him. Just like you talk to your best friend. He is right there by your side, looking at you and hearing everything you say. Ask Him anything you want to know. Then let Him know that you'll wait for an answer. He answers in many different ways but you'll know when its His answer. The best way to find Him, though is when you decide to do something for Him especially during Lent. For example, if you decide to give up T.V. , read the Bible, sing songs of worship to Him, go to Mass for the entire 40 days of Lent and let nothing come in between. Repent of your sins. Then you'll experience the most wonderful event in your life. You will experience God.

People have been searching since the dawn of mankind (or perhaps earlier?? Who knows what the apes were thinking??)
No one has found God yet. Well, plenty of people claimed to have, but there is no proof. Einstein failed. There are also so many conflicting philosophies and religions. So my advice is to stay cool, avoid an existential crisis and perhaps even consider agnosticism! We can't prove the existence of God either way afterall.

Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Pray for your eyes to be opened. Read the Bible and see the beauty of the Gospel.
God already knows where you are - you don't need to find Him - you need to see that He has found you.
