How many of you have read the Bhagavad Gita? Has it helped you? Which one have you read(who was the interpreter / commentator?)? How long did it take for you to read it?

Gita is not the only holy book like bible for christians or Quran for Muslims, hinduism doesnot have boundaries and not necessarily Gita is a must, yes it teaches some nice moral how to live and what not to do, thats it. Hinduism is an ocean.

It depends on the interpreter. Try reading it in your mother tongue rather than other languages, and also try from different interpreters as well, as sometime the interpretation may seem wrong. You may notice a fair bit of change in your approach to each things. God Bless you.

Bhagavad Gita is an important book as it contains the extracts of upanishadas. There may be many who have not read Gita, but that does not stop them from being hindus.

Gita is a great help to all hindus as it tells us how to do our Karma without being attached to it.

There are thousands of commentaries/interpretations on Gita and each one likes as per his own taste

I liked the commentaries by Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnana, Aurobindo and Rajneesh

the gita is way to long to read cover to cover and the Vedas would take a long time also , just go to the library and pick up a few books and see for your self which one suite's you best.knolege allways helps
