i want to bleach my hair platinum blonde, but i have very, very dark brown hair that's damaged from years of japanese straightening. i think overall my hair is in pretty good shape, but my ends are a bit dry, and i dyed the underside of it red and back to brown a couple months ago. is it possible to bleach it out without cutting most of it off or having it turn out orange? it's boob length right now, and i'm willing to cut a couple inches off.

If you bleach your hair now, it will turn out orange.
You have to do a double-process bleach application.
Make sure you purchase a toner, because that will cut out the brassiness.

But in all reality, go to a salon and have a professional do it for you. You're most likely not going to be happy with the results.

No! I tried it and part of my hair turned red and part of it was a yellowish green. It was awful and very expensive to fix. All they could do was get it back to my regular dark brown color. If you really want to go blonde, just pay and have it done by a professional. Although I don't think you can go platinum from dark brown no matter how hard you try.

Just cut off a couple of inches and apply good hair mask on regular basis (or hair repair therapy). Bleaching your hair right now might result in serious hair damage.

My hair was a dark brown red color and when I bleached it the hair came out a nice blond.

First, condition your hair. Try a hot oil treatment.
Second, you can bleach your hair. The first time, it will turn orange, so you'll have to wait awhile and bleach it again.
Third, trim your hair to make it look heathier.
