that soldiers are being blown up in roadside bombs . What the heal are the commanders doing to protect these troops. I mean why dont they change thier route or some damn thing this is just insane taking the same route each time where you know its been set up overnight . This is a nightmare! For god sakes sto the insanity !

they actually do all they can to protect themselves. support troops and convoys and such. but the fact of the matter is, no matter how hard the prepare, there will always be casualties. also, these men and women are all sick and tired of this war as well and want out as soon as possible. sometimes they just don't do a good enough job and staying on the alert like they should. but believe that the commanding officers care about their troops. the COs and NCOs bond with their platoon 24/7. the officers trust them to finish the job quickly and efficiently and the troops trust the officers are looking out for their best interest and the interest of the group as a whole. but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. what else did you expect in war?

Avoid over simplifying it... The problem areas where bombs are set up are 'the best way' to go to begin with. And keeping track of who is setting bombs and how. There are cases of construction crews that are putting in concrete and a bomb is literally put in with the construction for later use undetected. The garbage that piles up everywhere is hard to contain because people just through their garbage around without care and allow ample opportunity to 'hide' bombs. abandon cars on the side of roads are common place and the terrorists have set up bombs in those too.
Securing the area, especially when you are unsure of who to trust and how closely you can reasonably watch their activities is a big issue. Unless a major sweep is done (which innocent people could easily get caught in the middle of), security of the areas from bombs and people who would place these bombs will always be of concern. And to do that kind of sweep would make us look 'too mean' to the rest of the world. This nightmare will continue until we stop worrying about what other countries think and just do what needs to be done.... like world war 2... we did what he had to do to secure post war Germany and Japan, it wasn't pretty, but at least those countries could start rebuilding without violence in a matter of five to seven years. Granted we are only into this four years.

They do take different routes. The Militants out the bombs in different places. It is called war. The other side tries to kill you too. What would you have done in WWII when we lost a thousand soldiers a day at times? And some days more?

i think you may need to take a look at where you are getting your information from. try to seek out other means of information, you just might learn alot more in going on in Iraq that you would ever think. Their are alot of great things happening in Iraq but for the most part most medias don't report it. example that did you know that the Iraq's economy is booming? Do you know how well the real estate market is doing? Please seek out more and other ways of getting you information. Like I said their is alot more going on the general media will lead you to believe

Those IEDs are a huge problem. Our soldiers are well protected but the Iraqi citizens are in a terrible place. We can't leave them as there now are. We have to help the government they elected get control over the violence.

It's a perpetual anarchy, equivalent- not to Vietnam- which has order (although via communism), but to some nations in Africa ruled by minutmen, men who in the absence of government, purchase a weapon and bully and oppress those who are unarmed. They even charge tolls in order to cross into certain areas. Iraq is the biggest military loss to the US in our modern time. No one wants to admit it, but it is.

This is all due to lack of good policy makers in America, they just looked to their banks and the ammunition depot, they went to war without considering consequences of it and now, it is just poor American children who are becoming orphan.
